Ehsaas undergraduate scholarship
Over the past 14 years, HEC has granted an impressive total of 30,000 undergraduate scholarships. However, the need remains significant, with approximately 50,000 students from low-income backgrounds receiving scholarships annually across all four provinces (AJK, Gilgit Baltistan, Sindh, Punjab). Eligibility for the Ehsaas Scholarship Program requires a household annual income below Rs 45,000, aiming to support those in genuine financial need.
The Ehsaas Scholarship Program, now set to benefit a staggering 200,000 students over four years, offers comprehensive coverage, including full tuition costs and a monthly stipend of Rs 4,000 ($50). Recently, the program expanded its reach to encompass public universities in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, marking a significant investment of Rs. 24 billion euros. On March 2nd, the Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the first phase of disbursement, recognizing and rewarding the brilliance and worthiness of students nationwide.

The strategy aims to create opportunities for youth by expanding access to higher education and ensuring equal educational opportunities for all. Recognizing the reality of Pakistan’s population of around 220 million, with more than half being university-age, the Government of Pakistan prioritizes initiatives that provide access to financially deserving students and promote equal rights. These programs are designed to empower the youth and drive forward educational equity across the nation.
In the Ehsaas Scholarship Program, 50% of the scholarships are allocated to women. Each year, 50,000 scholarships will be awarded, totaling 200,000 scholarships over four years. The next phase of the Ehsaas Scholarship Program is set to commence in December 2023. Prospective applicants for the Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship should prepare in advance and promptly apply as soon as the online application process begins. This proactive approach will increase their chances of securing the scholarship.
